What are the System Requirements for the Software?
Because Sports by Design software resides on a remote server, all you need to have in order to use the software are a Internet connection, a current version of Internet Explorer or Firefox with cookies enabled and popup blockers turned off.
Do I need to install any software on my computer?
No
Is there a limit to the number of teams I can sign up?
No, teams are grouped into divisions and divisions are grouped into leagues. While there are no restrictions to the number of teams and divisions you can have, each league is managed in its own database. This means that you will be charged for each league.
Does Sports by Design accept payments by credit card?
Yes, credit card payments are processed using Verisign or Paypal.
Can I access the league management system from any computer?
Yes, as long as you remember your log-in name and password.
How do I make updates to the website?
You can make updates to your website by accessing the administrative area either from your website or from the Sports by Design website.
Will league statistics show up on my current website?
Yes, as long as you have access to the content. If you want the data (game results, standings, schedules, etc.) to show up on your website, all you need to do is add a link to a page and we will set up an area with additional links to your data. Or, if you prefer, you can add specific links to you menu and/or page that will direct users to the corresponding data.
What if we don't have a website? Can we still use the software?
Absolutely. You can do one of two things. You can have us design a website for you unique to your league or you can access your league information through the Sports by Design website.
How do I get started?
After purchasing Sports by Design software, a member of our team will provide you with a username and password to access the administrative area for you league. From there, you will begin setting up your league by following these simple steps:
- First, you will need to enter your league information such as name, contact information etc. using a simple form.
- Then you will create your divisions.
- Next, enter coaches names and contact information.
- To add your players, import them from a spreadsheet and let the software do the rest, or you can enter them individually.
- Now, you can create your teams. Teams will be assigned a division and a coach from a dropdown selection. Players can also be assigned to teams during this step.
- Next, you can create venues which includes gyms, fields, facilities, parks, etc. The data includes times available and directions to venue.
- Now you can add officials with contact information.
Your league setup is complete after following the steps, and you are now ready to post results, manage teams, assign officials, etc.
Can more than one person access the administrative area of the league?
Yes. In fact, it is recommended. For example, it is a good idea to allow officials to manage their own schedules, eliminating phone tag that often goes along with schedule changes. Whenever, a change in schedule or venue does occur, you will be prompted to send a e-mail notification to all affected by the change including players, coaches, and officials.
